Art Gallery Summary

From the art gallery I found this artwork very interesting. I love how it tells a story especially with all the other ones the artist created. It cast an oval or circle like shape in the background behind the black figure and I love the red tent to the shadow. It tells a story when she’s facing towards the left. It looks like she's reflecting off of something or looking at life, she could be thinking about that. I felt like this type of artwork was made for something bigger, maybe the artist is planning to make a masterpiece, it looks good it just looks like unfinished work.  I do love the technique she used and how it was thought out with each piece.

Experiment Collage

I ripped the construction paper into pieces to make it look realistic for the experiment.
I messed up a little bit but I added the black as the background to help the colors stand out.

sandwich paper

This is the sandwich paper I used to put the strips of paper on.
I used the sandwich paper and this is what it looks like before I ripped the strips into pieces. I didn't end up using all the strips but Ill probably end up using it later.
I used some of the strip pieces for my abstract canvas I added some of the pattern strips but  I ended up covering them up with the plaster and made them into trees.

Cruciform

I painted the canvas with pink and blue mixed with gesso.

I used a dark shade of pink a solid color for the canvas, I didn't know whether to add a pattern since there already was a pattern for the background. I decided to color it pink because there already was enough going on in the background.

The background was changed into swirls of paint and with one of the strips I used light pink and dabbed the canvas with light dots to have a style so it wouldn't look so plain. Then I added the clay shaped into circles with colored foil wrapped around them to add a little bit more color to the canvas.

I decided to add the white and black to to bring all the other colors out such as the background and the three clay pieces covered with foil.

Critic

I used acrylic paint on the styrofoam and mixed purple, white
and blue and swirled it with a paint brush then
I cut it into shapes.
I used titanium white and the color black to go from
dark to light by adding the white to the black.

I was adding texture to the aluminum foil covered by acrylic red paint.
